Community Service

Helping others is a big part of what we do at New Paltz. And student-athletes have helped lead the way.

Our teams and individual athletes have volunteered their time at various community events, such as the annual Alzheimer's Walk in nearby Kingston, NY and have sponsored events themselves, such as the Battle of the Bands, which supports the March of Dimes.

The Alzheimer's Walk is the men's soccer team's cornerstone charity event, with their efforts directed in the memory of university Registrar Deb Miller's mother, who lost her battle with the crippling disease. The annual Breast Cancer Walk at Woodbury Commons is of special interest to our women's soccer and lacrosse teams, which have had close relatives stricken with that diesease. And others help build housing through Habitat for Humanity or help out the the Ulster County Special Olympics.

Through it all, our players never forget what's most important in life...helping others.
