The Carol Eckman Society Medal of Honor Recognition Program
Nomination Information
The Carol Eckman Society was recently established by the Athletic Department to recognize the accomplishments both athletically and professionally of New Paltz Alumnae. The Medal of Honor Recognition Program is designed to provide these honored alumnae the opportunity to serve as mentors and professional resources to present female student-athletes.
Number of Awards
There will be two award winners on an annual basis.
Eligibility
Any female graduate of the college who participated in a Varsity sport during her career at New Paltz is eligible to receive this award.
Criteria
- Candidates must have graduated from the college in good academic standing.
- Candidates must have participated in a Varsity sport at New Paltz.
- Candidates must have sustained a level of excellence in her chosen career.
- Please include any of the following separately and submit with the nomination form: memberships or directorships, business/professional honors and awards, community service including civic, religious, professional, youth and philanthropic activities, current New Paltz activities/involvements/memberships and any supporting documentation (i.e. press clippings, etc..).
Nominations
Nominations are solicited from Alumni Foundation Board Members, Department Chairpersons and faculty, past and present coaches and athletes, as well as members of the campus community at large.
Selecting Body
The selection committee includes but is not limited to, the Senior Women's Administrator in Athletics, the Director of Alumni Affairs, a member of the Women's Studies Department, two current student-athletes and the Assistant to the Director of Athletics.
