The SUNY New Paltz women's volleyball team has been selected as the SUNY New Paltz student-athletes of the week for the week ending November 8th.
The Hawks for the first time in women's volleyball history the team has won a SUNYAC Championship. The Hawks earned a first round bye after finishing the season at 7-1 in the SUNYAC East Division. In the semifinal round, New Paltz defeated Brockport in straight sets by the scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-23. In the championship game, the Hawks dominated the Red Dragons from Cortland. The team won in straight sets by the scores of 25-16, 25-11, 25-18. The Hawks advance to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season and second overall. The team is riding a 22 game-winning streak and have won 30 of their last 31 games overall.
