Jamie Seward
Head Coach
Jamie Seward enters his third year as the head women’s basketball coach.
In two seasons as bench director, Seward has complied an overall record of 36-19 and 22-10 in conference. He has guided the Hawks to two consecutive SUNYAC tournaments, including a miracle comeback of 12 points in 43 seconds to send the game to overtime and defeat the Geneseo Knights in 2007. During the 2008 season, the team improved their school record marks for wins in a season (19) and total number of conference wins (12) from the previous year. Seward has coached three all-conference selections and SUNYAC rookie of the year.
Prior to SUNY New Paltz, Seward spent five seasons as the assistant women’s basketball coach to Mary Ellen Burt at Union College in Schenectady, NY. During the five year period, Union compiled an overall record of 98-38. This was the most successful five-year run in the history of the Union Dutchwoman program.
Prior to Union, he spent two years as the head coach of the Northern Lites seventeen and under national AAU team. In 2004, he coached the Open Women’s Basketball team at the 2004 Empire State Games. He founded and directs the Real School of Basketball for boys and girls ages eight to 15 in Amsterdam, New York.
Seward has also been on the staffs for the Union, Siena, and the Fulton-Montgomery Community college basketball camps. He was the head coach of the Amsterdam High freshman girls’ team as well as an assistant for the varsity squad.
In 2005 he was an assistant on the Union women’s lacrosse staff, helping to lead the team to the Liberty League title and the NCAA tournament.
Seward earned a Bachelors of Arts in History degree from Siena College in 2001. While at Union, he completed six credit hours in the MAT program and nine credit hours in the MBA program as a non-matriculated student.

Jenny Driscoll
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Jenny Driscoll will be joining the SUNY New Paltz athletic department in the fall of 2008 as the assistant woman’s basketball coach.
Driscoll comes to SUNY New Paltz from the National Basketball Association (NBA) where she served as a game scout logger since 2007 out of New Jersey offices. While with the NBA, Driscoll edited game film for offensive play calls, transition, and out of bounds plays. She also composed video clips of various defensive and offensive sets for teams. She prepped NBA coaches, scouts, and video coordinators with opposing teams play sets.
Prior to the NBA, Driscoll played three years for the Hawks and was named team captain her senior year. The team finished fourth in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and made it to the semi-finals of the SUNYAC which was a school record in the 2006-2007 season. For the first time in Hawks history the women’s basketball team made it to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament in 2006-2007. Driscoll was named to the All-Tournament Team in the Coaches verses Cancer Tournament in York, Pennsylvania in 2006.
Driscoll is a graduate from SUNY New Paltz in 2007 and earned her degree in History.
