Colleen Bruley
Head Coach
Colleen Bruley begins her 13th season as the head coach of the SUNY New Paltz women's soccer program. The Hawks have earned a post-season berth to the SUNYAC tournament four times under Bruley (1999, 2004, 2007, 2008) and two to the ECAC tournament (1999 and 2005).
She has coached 21 All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selections and one All-Region player since taking over the program in 1997 and was selected as the 2004 SUNYAC Coach of the Year. Bruley holds a coaching license from the English Football Association as well as an Advanced National Certificate from the NSCAA, and is a 2007 graduate of the NCAA Women's Coaching Academy.
Prior to joining the SUNY New Paltz staff in the summer of 1997, Bruley coached and played for the Millwall and Arsenal clubs in the top English Women's National League. She has worked for the English-based Coerver Coaching Association, which is widely recognized as the world's top soccer skills coaching method.
Bruley began her intercollegiate coaching career in 1991 at Skidmore College. After one year at Skidmore, she moved onto the University of Albany where she spent two seasons as the head coach for the Great Danes.
Bruley was a goalkeeper for two years at SUNYAC rival Plattsburgh and ranks among the programs all-time leaders in career saves and save percentage. She graduated with a degree in criminal justice in 1991. Bruley recently received her Masters degree in Educational Administration from SUNY New Paltz in May of 2006.
